With a Master of Chemistry degree from Oxford University, and a friendly and informal teaching style, I provide my students with an excellent understanding of the material, and also ensure they really enjoy their lessons.
I believe in empowering the student to take responsibility for their learning. I provide them with learning and revision skills which will help when preparing for exams for all their subjects.
I have worked as an Assistant Examiner for one of the leading UK examination boards, marking A-level Chemistry papers, and this has given me a great insight into exactly what the examiners are looking for and how the students should best present their work.
My students are of a variety of ability levels—I am just as proud of a student who works really hard and achieves their C as I am of a student who gets the A required to get into medicine.
I am currently tutoring the following UK A-level examination syllabuses: Edexcel, AQA and OCR A.
I charge £65 per hour and I teach my lessons online using Zoom. This includes support via WhatsApp between tutorials and homework marking outside of the tutorial hour.
In addition to a webcam on my face, I have a webcam viewing the notes that I am writing during the tutorial. At the end of the lesson I send scans of the notes for the student to write up or print out at home, which will form a key part of their revision notes.
In preparation for the exams, I offer a series of ninety-minute, topic focussed, online revision sessions. These are at a special reduced rate of £40 per session. Each session will have a limited number of students attending, and the rate includes messaging support outside of the session time to enable the student to be confident answering exam questions.
